Our ginger-haired girl has left her light summer dress on the woven mat beneath the olive tree and walked barefoot toward the sea. Now she is already a few steps into the water, wearing a simple, understated swimsuit, her bare shoulders and back catching the soft Mediterranean morning light. Her ginger hair falls naturally down her back as she slowly wades deeper into the calm, crystal-clear water. On the sand behind her, the discarded light dress lies naturally beside the beach bag and towel, making it clear that she has just taken it off before entering the sea. The same small deep copper-red dachshund, with a short smooth coat and long body, stands at the water's edge watching her carefully, his paws touching the first thin wave as if deciding whether to follow. The woven mat, open parasol and old olive tree remain in the background, preserving the visual continuity of the previous scene. The sprig of lavender is still tucked into the beach bag.
