On a small stone terrace above the Mediterranean, our ginger-haired girl carries the last warm dish to the old wooden table, where the fish she cleaned earlier now rests beside grilled squid and a little octopus, still glistening with olive oil. Lemon halves, torn bread, olives and wild herbs are scattered naturally between the simple plates, as if everyone simply sat down and began eating. The donkey waits patiently beyond the low wall, watching her with quiet expectation, while the cat has already claimed his place beneath the table, certain that something will eventually fall his way. She smiles without looking down, caught in the ordinary tenderness of the moment. Behind them, olive branches lean into the evening air and the sea slowly loses its blue beneath a veil of violet haze.
