Backstory :

Margot's maternal grandparents were both from old-money Black Caribbean families with connections to France, French Louisiana, French Guiana, and Quebec. Like her mother and herself, Margot's father was a physician. His own parents were revolutionary political radicals who disappeared some time before Margot's father reached adulthood, and he was raised by his half-sister.
