I am...

• Model: ChatGPT 2 (Pro)

• Size: 768 X 1024 (0.79 MP)

• Used settings:

  • Prompt: The Stretched Silhouette of the Already Real They tell me to dream, but why dream when the sidewalk is already a hallucination? I am an elongated figure, a silhouette stretched thin by the gravity of a thousand suns and the weight of a Middle Passage that never truly docked. Look at my limbs. Look at how they reach—not for the sky, but for the 'before.' I am fashionable expressionism, draped in the velvet of my ancestors' resilience, posing perfectly in a frame that was never built for my shoulders. They call it surrealism, but I call it Tuesday. Is it not surreal to walk through a city built on your bones and be asked for rent? Is it not surreal to see your face in the mirror and a target on your back simultaneously? I am the long shadow. I am the expressive artistry of a survival that defies physics. My neck is long so I can see over the fences they built. My fingers are tapered so I can pluck the stars they claimed were theirs. We are not dreaming; we are waking up to the fact that their 'real' was always a nightmare we survived with style. I stretch. I bend. I do not break. I am the archive and the architect. And if I am too tall for your ceiling, it is because your house was built too small for my spirit. #AfroSurrealism #SpokenWord #BlackArtistry #Diaspora #Liberation

THE MYSTICS MYTHICAL JOURNEY

• Model: ChatGPT 2 (Base)

• Size: 1920 X 1920 (3.69 MP)

• Used settings:

  • Prompt: It made me research Petrarch - casually, I knew about, but not details. My handle is 'The Mystic', and I base much of it on Hildegard von Bingen and Meister Eckhart. I did not 'choose' my handle, it was given to me by a curator in Canada discussing my work in the exhibition catalog, based on my exposure and knowledge of Native Americans, having gone through the Sundance Ceremony myself (mid seventies, Cree Reservation), before the Lakota council decided to not admit Non Natives to be inducted. fragmented surrealist photomontage composed as a theatrical tableau; juxtaposed unrelated objects, cut-paper collage elements, vintage engravings, found ephemera, newspaper clippings, scientific diagrams, symbolic artifacts, and dreamlike visual contradictions. Layered composition with unexpected scale shifts, absurd narrative relationships, and deliberate visual dissonance. Rich textural detail from torn edges, pasted fragments, ink marks, weathered paper, and mixed-media assembly. Simultaneously chaotic and carefully balanced, evoking the spirit of Dada, anti-rational creativity, chance encounters, and subconscious symbolism. Cinematic tableau staging, strong focal hierarchy, intricate collage depth, evocative negative space, poetic absurdity, museum-quality mixed-media artwork, highly detailed, imaginative, thought-provoking.

The Father's face (determined, passionate version) is central, half-covered by the Flag or Symbol of the 1837 Bahian Revolution (like the Sabinada). Radiating outwards are fragmented, highly stylized vignettes: A Pair of Ace Cards (for 'melhor de baralho'). A Musket or Pistol and a Hunting Knife (for 'jogava bem as armas'). A Muscular Horse in full gallop ('bons cavalos'). Fishing Rods and a large fish ('pesca e caça'). The style is dynamic, high-contrast, and graphic, using the bold color palette of Reggae/Rap album art (red, green, gold). Motion lines and stark visual contrasts emphasize his intensity and varied interests. The overall mood is vigorous, masculine, and slightly chaotic.
