Gloria Van Dinkel never had enough. She rose to become the #1 news anchor in town by stepping on people on her way to the top and doing whatever she had to do to make it to the big time. But when her ratings started to slide due to some new competition in town she tried to dig up dirt on her competitor by seducing him. When she found he wasn't interested in her advances she turned to trying to do him on by planting an explosion on this boat -- she knew just enough about boats to be dangerous due to owning a boat herself. Unfortunately for Gloria, the person who was in charge of planting the explosives was duped by one of Gloria's underling reporters who figured out what was going on. Instead of rigging the explosive in the competitor's boat it was wrongly rigged in Gloria's -- and we see the result -- a final desperate reaction as she realizes what has happened and who is really 'going up in flames'. Meanwhile her henchman sees the final demise and though momentarily shocked -- sneaks off into the background with Gloria's cash.
