Rosie Smithson has been a lead news producer in town for close to 20 years. Her weight lifting duties have lasted even longer. She started pumping iron in her first year of high school for gymnastics support but quickly moved to power lifting full-time. In college she competed in competitions throughout the country while earning her degree in broadcast journalism. Today her two primary pursuits -- journalism and power lifting -- balance her day to day routine and keep her on track for other responsibilities in family, faith and civic service. Oh, and she doesn't normally wear the revealing leotard at the gym but as a special treat for her husband's 50th birthday present she had an extra special photo shoot arranged to give him exactly what he wanted to celebrate the day!
