Inspired by an amazing on-air anchorwoman who worked from the late 70s to the mid-90s and later moved on to PBS for many years. Her characteristics included a combination of intelligence, work ethic, graciousness, warmth and outside-the-box Beauty. My current dreams evolve from those characteristics and from others, but obviously do not represent any one individual but rather are just a jumping off point for my dreams. These dream fantasies include themes of power, competition, love, lust, femininity, masculinity, transgender, sexuality, humor, slapstick, muscle physique, entertainment and various role playing themes. I temper some of my fantasies to stay within the guidelines here but even outside those guidelines my dreams are always carried out fully aware that they are purely fantasies which allow for an ongoing exploration of playful expression mixing comedy, drama, adventure and romance.
As far as the dream presentations, I am initially most interested in realistic imagery with sometimes comic-stylings interwoven to create visual impact. I am also extremely engaged in writing title and descriptions that detail character back story and plot lines to bring greater engagement to the visuals -- I might even say that if someone doesn't read the descriptions of my work they're really missing out on the foundation of what is being said visually. Yes, a picture is worth a 1,000 words but we have books and magazines and poetry to also give greater meaning to things that can't be deciphered by imagery alone.
Finally, and maybe most importantly, I view what we experience in daily human life to in and of itself be a dream -- not that our experiences aren't real -- but our perception of what is happening is never reality. Therefore, all of these dreams created here can provide a stage to explore the underlying misconceptions of life that we believe to be real. The dreams I create are meant to be explorations of the dream within a dream nature of our perception and in my view, are intended to be fun, thought-provoking, questioning of societal precepts and at least occasionally -- shocking!
