ArtistA Roman-style study with a low wooden table surrounded by stools. Enaid, an anthropomorphic European fire-bellied toad in a green dress with red floral pattern. Enaid holds a gnarled staff made of oakwood which has a glittering green emerald inset at the top. Agatha, an anthropomorphic German spaniel with uniform glossy reddish-brown fur that shimmers in the light. Agatha wears an elegant dark green dress and carries a brown leather bag on her right side with the strap of the bag draped over Agatha's left shoulder. Dogula, an anthropomorphic Transylvanian hound. Dogula wears black robes and a black cloak with a high collar and prominently shows his long canines protruding past his lower lip. Dogula holds a staff made of ebony which has a faintly glowing moonstone inset at the top. The three Wiskerteers, three anthropomorphic cats. The first, Artemis, is fully white with blue eyes, the second, Purrsephone, is roundish and orange with amber eyes and the third, Athena, is an elderly tabby with green eyes . The three Wiskerteers wear red robes and cloaks and carry a rapier in a sheath attached to their belt. Enaid, Agatha, Dogula, Athena, Artemis and Purrsephone all sit on the stools around the table. The table is laden with books, some leather-bound, some made of bamboo, some of papyrus or birch bark. They are written in many scripts including Runes, Mayan, Hieroglyphics, Baybayin, Ancient Chineese...
The heroes rush back to Antonesia to consult with Enaid Longlife. They bring with them all the books on sickness curses they could find, hoping that one of them will give them a clue as to what they are dealing with. This is particularly tricky since curses tend to have different effects on different species.
The situation is indeed dire. Everywhere in Antonesia ants are getting sick. The city of Antwarp is particularly hard hit. It seems to be a contagious curse, which can be caught from being in proximity to afflicted ants. Thus, from a few small points of origin, the disease has spread.
This gives Agatha Misty an idea. “If we pinpoint the different points of origin on the map, we could follow the trajectory of the one who did it.” she says.
Everyone agrees and they soon discover that the culprit seems to have gone through the whole country infecting people everywhere, except for Antium.
“That's it!” Lord Dogula exclaims. “It must be Lord Laverno. He has returned home and to avoid catching his own curse, he has spared his home province.”
