Colossians 1:18 (NIV) - "And he is the head of the body, the church; he is the beginning and the firstborn from among the dead, so that in everything he might have the supremacy."
In the tapestry of Church history, we witness the rise and fall of movements, the faithfulness and failures of individuals. Yet, amidst it all, one truth remains unchanging: Jesus Christ reigns supreme. As the head of the Church, He is the beginning and the firstborn from among the dead. Through His death and resurrection, He conquered sin and established a new covenant, offering salvation to all who believe in Him.
From the early days of the Church, Jesus' supremacy was evident. Empowered by the Holy Spirit, the disciples boldly proclaimed His name, and the Church grew rapidly. Despite persecution and opposition, the Church thrived because Jesus was at its forefront, guiding and sustaining it. Throughout history, Jesus' authority has transcended denominations, cultures, and traditions. His grace and mercy have transformed lives and brought hope to the lost.
Today, as we stand in the present chapter of Church history, let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith. He is the unchanging, constant force that unifies the Church. In all that we do, may we seek His wisdom, follow His example, and submit to His lordship. Remember, our faith is anchored in the truth that Jesus reigns supreme, yesterday, today, and forever.
