MADEMOISELLE MARIE THERESE DELACROIX is the founder of both the Delacroix Line and the New Orleans chapter of the Crimson Circle. She was born in the Louisiana country in 1780 to parents who were both witch-magi, and she got her wealth from her father, a plantation owner who was powerful in every sense of the word. Under Louisiana's laws, women had greater property rights than in most places, and MAD made the most of it, rising to great prominence as a business-person. She had many lovers male and female, allegedly including Jean Lafitte, but she refused many offers of marriage. When she was 30, a physician told her that she could not bear children. It was then that she came up with the idea of the Delacroix Line.
