ArtistA field with giant flowers including poppies, dandelions, buttercups, shepherd's purse, meadow sage and cockoo flowers. Hovering over one of the poppies in the center of the picture is a mythical animal with the head and body of a mammoth but the delicate wings and legs of an atlas moth. The trunk of the animal is buried in the poppy, drinking its nectar. Beneath the poppy, a woman with long blond hair flowing down her back wears travel-worn brown leather clothes and carries a leather backpack. The woman has her back turned to the viewer and is looking up at the anmial hovering overhead. The poppy is three times as high as the woman. Sunlight filters through the flowers and forms little patches of light on the rich brown earth.
A mythical creature that pollinates the giant poppies of North Slumberland. Though fearsome to look at, they are actually quite gentle creatures. Those who have encountered them, claim that they were filled with an inner peace unlike any they encountered before. However, in spite of their importance for the ecosystem and the calming effects they have on people, they are now thought to be critically endangered. One can only hope that conservation efforts will be successful in preserving this unique species.
