I apologise if I misunderstood what you said. It sounded sarcastic to me. You have explained it and I don't think that any longer. My remark about the friendly acquaintances was not about you. I was talking about the people who make the images because a couple I saw yesterday actually really disappointed me. I don't know you particularly well so it was not about you.

Yesterday, I was able to mark 5 user's images as gems but, I see the rules are changing from day to day. Frankly, I am confused. For example, now in my notifications, when I see how many people used my image as an inspiration, I can't see who that was. I thought that feature worked a week ago but not any more. When was change decided upon? So, how can I than check that person's work? Perhaps, I would like it or, I might think that its too close to mine😎.

On Hidden Gems: I see people giving stars to already well known members on DDG and to their work. Wasn't this feature created to help us find other less well know members? I mean, the trending page already exists and the same members seam to share both lists. Just saying.😁

I understand the purpose of Hidden Gems Nori, but unfortunately, members will always vote for what appeals to them personally, making it difficult to control or predict the outcome. We can nominate what we believe deserves to be considered a Gem, but ultimately, individual preferences influence the choices. I do agree, however, that Hidden Gems should not simply become another platform for those who are already trending. I have turned mine off.

Why is image as this one still here? I thought that this would classify as "porn or, something like that". Are we deviating from what is stated as a rule? Some of you may say; but this is not a nude. Still, images like this one are classified as soft porn. If she had no covering by a flimsy patch of underwear, then it would be a hard porn. 😬 Effect is the same: the image portrays a sex worker in indecent pose to sexually arouse the viewer, and don't say; that's a respectable profession or, did it arouse you or, I just might block you forever. https://deepdreamgenerator.com/search?t=explore&q=03bf07c…

'Continued on from my post above. It was a simple concept, a young girl sitting in profile in the middle of an a wildflower field, barefooted with daisies between her toes. A Raven on her shoulder in the World Series is the favorites holding a spare Daisy. I got rejected because I had young girl. Obviously it would be great and barefooted in the same prompt. I was told to get rid of one or the other please so instead of a barefooted, I eliminated everything but the baseball after that they are ready flowers between her toes. And then I forget what it was exactly that was wrong with that, but the censorship said that it would not produce it because it is not appropriate to put under aged child in a dangerous situation. I did finally get it and I got it the way that I wanted it as described , but all of the ambience from the original prompt that I was editing was gone. I gave up. I think they need to tweak better. What are barefoot is not nude and daisies between your toes is not danger

Hi DDG Team, Would it be possible to add a “Search by Name” function to both the Followers and Following pages? At present, finding a particular member means scrolling through multiple pages, which can be quite time-consuming and frustrating. A search function would make it much quicker and easier to locate specific members. Thank you

Xymo Nau It's really interesting to see so many mocking and disrespectful images posted only by those who feel entitled to use other people's prompts. And that DDG is allowing it.
Xymo, you're fighting windmills. With my picture I merely wanted to point out that people don't have to steal your prompt — they can steal the image itself, and you can't do anything about it, because writing a prompt is not legally considered creative authorship. What does hiding the prompt achieve? Here in AI Tools there's a reverse prompting tool, or I can just copy your image into Gemini/ChatGPT/Claude and ask for the prompt, or even JSON code directly. Hiding the prompt only protects you from amateurs who are learning to use AI and don't really know anything. I don't steal prompts — I see no point in duplicating someone else's work — but I'm often curious what words someone used to achieve something, and being able to look at the prompt directly instead of doing reverse prompting saves me time. If I consider something unique and want it to be only mine, I don't publish it.

I see it the same way—and for that reason, I refuse to be pigeonholed, insulted, or have false accusations leveled against me. In some cases here, people are effectively being criminalized, demonized, or declared *persona non grata*. Discussions should be nuanced and objective, as befits mature, civilized, and rational human beings. Yet, it is often the easier path to simply point fingers at others; when substantive arguments run out, some immediately resort to personal attacks—rudely and unkindly. Furthermore, some people are quick to dish it out but cannot handle any pushback, nor can they cope with differing opinions. Unfortunately, this is a widespread phenomenon in today’s culture of debate. I include myself in this—I have made mistakes in the past, too—but I am learning from them and striving to improve.
Yvain de Leonais
I mean this in a general sense—it applies to both sides as well as to me—with the goal that things should be more peaceful and friendly.
Yvain de Leonais
Whether we like it or not, we are a community. The term "community" implies something held in common—in this case, on DDG, it refers to a diverse group of people who share certain things: - We are all users on DDG. - Many identify as "Dreamers." - We are all AI creators. - We all generate images, videos, animations, and music using AI. Someone who rides a mountain bike downhill or builds a 1:1 scale model of the Death Star out of matchsticks is not a "Dreamer" and does not belong to this community (assuming they don’t have an account here). And no, neither I nor anyone else are self-appointed community spokespersons; we are all equal members of the community.
Yvain de Leonais
Yvain de Leonais
Given this, I ask myself: how can we coexist peacefully, rationally, and respectfully within this community? Both points of view have their merits; therefore, no one is inherently "bad" simply because of the way they express themselves. I do not exempt myself from this, as I also engage in self-reflection and critically examine my own stance, opinions, and behavior. So, how can we work together to find a solution to this issue—one that both sides can live with? Or do we want to wage an endless, bitter conflict? I would prefer the former, but my personal opinion alone is not the deciding factor here. So the general Question: War or Peace?

Gronk Did you enjoy the result at the time? I remember being amazed... looked at the earliest results just now - "grotesque" doesn't give it justice 😂
I found it fascinating at the time (see my alias). Even so, I wasn’t entirely satisfied, because Stable didn’t quite grasp the line of sight I had specified in the prompt. The kangaroos were looking from the Earth toward the Moon, rather than from the Moon toward the Earth as I had requested. Still, it was my first image, so I’ve made it public again for comparison, while my other early results remain private.

Sometimes I also go back and recreate old prompts and "dreams"—whether public or private—using the newer models. That said, I have to admit that even though the results from the older models were less "perfect," some of those "dreams" had a special charm of their own in my eyes.

it would be better if the hidden gems were actually hidden and not on the front page of trending for half a day. maybe they should require less than a certain number of views?

For anyone who might be interested, there's an app called NOTION that lets you store your data, prompts, images and various notes by creating your own database. It's a free app, fairly easy to get the hang of — just an FYI... The link is here : https://www.notion.com/fr/desktop. Have a good evening.

The fear that newcomers are just making derivatives is often valid, but it assumes that all derivation is theft. In art history, almost every major style began as a derivative of something else. Members can challenge themselves to look for the "10% difference." Instead of asking, "Did they use my prompt?" they can ask, "What did they add to this that I didn't think of?" When a member finds a newcomer who has taken an existing formula and pushed it in a surprising direction, nominating that person becomes a way of celebrating the evolution of the technology itself.😁
Nori
Nori
Instead of viewing newcomers as competition, established members can treat the search for new talent as a high-level challenge. They can turn "Hidden Gems" into a scavenger hunt for something that cannot be produced by the current popular prompts. By actively seeking out art that looks unlike anything they have seen before, they shift their mindset from "defending their turf" to "exploring a frontier." Focus on the "Aha!" Moment Since most members love the technology, they likely remember the thrill of their first successful generation. By consciously recalling the feeling of being a newcomer and the hunger for that first bit of recognition, they can replace the instinct of competition with empathy. Recognizing a newcomer's work becomes a way to relive that excitement through someone else's eyes.

The instinct to hoard a successful prompt comes from the belief that the prompt's secrecy is where the value lies. However, in a community of enthusiasts, true status doesn't come from knowing a secret; it comes from being the person who discovered the secret and taught others how to use it. By nominating a newcomer who has evolved a prompt, the established member isn't losing their status—they are claiming the role of a "tastemaker" or mentor, which is a higher social tier than simply being a "prompt-creator."
Nori

I usually, rely on using DDG Ai for making of my prompts. My problem is; I want to make art fast. If I like other member's style, I may use it as an inspiration to my own art but change the setting, palette and theme. Yes, the outcome can be seen as a derivative and not original work, but in the end, does it really matter? My work will not look identical to anyone's but the image which inspired me will be recognized by other's and by its original artist. People often punish you for using "try" feature but how can one grow as an artist when every attempt is made against you to restrict your creativity? Members who use 100% text from another member's prompt, should not be recognized as a hidden gem.

Mentorship programs can also bridge the gap between established members and newcomers. If popular artists are encouraged to "adopt" or highlight a newcomer's work, it transforms the relationship from one of competition to one of patronage. When a veteran member validates a new artist's unique style, it signals to the rest of the community that novelty is valued more than conformity.

The word "hoard" is intentionally used to insult. This is a website, not a community or a school or a kindergarten. You can form friendships and do all of that stuff informally without foisting it on everyone. Nobody wanting to hide their prompts is talking about status or social tiers. They are objecting to people who profit off the good nature and efforts of others. Most people using the prompts of other people have been here for a long time. It's not just newcomers. And many just help themselves to prompts and take them to other sites where they pretend they created them. It's less the use of a prompt - because if they were hidden and someone asked, I would probably allow them to use a prompt - and more the extreme sense of entitlement in some that is so gobsmackingly unbelievable.

The concept of "plagiarism," when applied to the Venetian painter Tintoretto (Jacopo Robusti, 1518–1594), brings to light a crucial historical nuance: in the 16th century, intellectual property did not exist in its modern form, and artists frequently imitated or copied one another—or even openly challenged each other. In his celebrated essay *The Sequestrated of Venice* (*Le Séquestré de Venise*), the philosopher Jean-Paul Sartre examines Tintoretto’s creative fervor and his rivalry with Titian. It is within this context that a theoretical notion regarding the evolution of painting often arises—the idea that "there is a necessary plagiarism in art." To surpass the undisputed masters of his era, Tintoretto had to absorb and copy their work, only to subsequently deconstruct it, thereby laying the foundations for the modernity of Mannerism.

And where, then, does AI get its "creative power"? From the "prompts" provided by countless artists—data with which it was fed, often against their will. In principle, AI reproduces and rearranges. Take, for example, the rather popular variations of the *Mona Lisa* that keep appearing here on DDG: was Leonardo’s "visual prompt" simply stolen, or has something new been created? Personally, I find many of these new creations quite well-executed—and often very humorous, too. I have no desire to disparage them or frame them in a negative light.
Yvain de Leonais
Yvain de Leonais
That said, "framing" seems to be a standard mode of discourse for some people—those who toss around unsubstantiated claims or arrogate to themselves the sole authority to define the truth. Often, their "main argument" relies on casting others in a bad light. This is a familiar pattern from many online forums and broader social debates, where certain groups are stigmatized and demonized—a phenomenon we can observe all over the world. That is why I so often advocate for a culture of discussion that is focused on the subject matter and nuanced—free from framing, even though the latter remains very popular.

FreeSpirit Hello everyone! I wanted to ask you how you get ideas and inspirations for AI Art? Thank you.
Go to free image sites like Pixabay and scroll through their images. Think about lines of poetry or song lyrics. Go to other AI sites like Midjourney and Night Cafe and see what their challenges and general images are. Think of a theme - one of the seasons, or sadness, or beauty, or scenery, or vehicles, ships, boats, cityscapes. Where did you go today? What's your favourite place or hobby or sport or animal? Historical eras - ancient, dark ages, architecture. Look at past weekly challenges on here. Look at the most popular galleries on DDG, but also look at the others and old images. You can use the try button and the try style button on the images of others, but always go to the gallery where the original prompt or style was found to get better quality - particularly with the try style. And thank the original person by crediting them in your image description because that's good manners.
Xymo Nau
DDG - You've done it again: "The Cherry Blossom Storm — opens 1 day from now. Pink petals fall like snow. Show a whirlwind of blossoms, a path completely covered in pink, or a picnic under the falling petals." What I and everyone else reads is three instructions and that is how people will vote. If an image varies it will be voted lower. If you had prefaced the suggestions with, "Some ideas to get you started are: a whirlwind of blossoms, a path completely covered in pink, or a picnic under the falling petals." Better yet - no suggestions. We can all Google the words to find images that might inspire us. As soon as you add those suggestions, even if you say they are not part of the challenge, I can guarantee at least half the people will enter those as the prompt and we will get a whole stack of similar images as we have done in EVERY challenge. Could you please try once without the suggestions and see what happens?

I understand you've had bad experiences with people stealing work. That sounds frustrating. It sounds like you've put a lot of effort into your prompts and feel that the community doesn't respect that effort. That's a tough position to be in. I'm open to discussing this, but I won't continue the conversation if it stays aggressive. Let me know when you'd like to talk about this calmly.
Xymo Nau
Nori I've noticed you're very generous in sharing your work despite the theft. Why do you choose to keep sharing it if it causes you this much distress?
Frankly, Nori, if I choose to talk about something it will be on my terms. You think assertiveness is aggression. That's a common mistake. Firstly, it is a RULE that prompts are shared on DDG. Secondly, entitled people might assume any resistance means someone does not want to share. What I have asked for is the option to make the choice. I have explained why it is an incredibly unfair system to force people to share their prompts. Mostly financial. The latest wave of attack - by private message and in the comments under my image as well - is to remind me that AI is a thief. And that therefore I have no right to feel anything if people help themselves to my prompts/images/and house and car as well, I suppose. The courts proved that it wasn't, and that claim died in the water. It is not collage. I object to entitlement, which is rampant here. Even if my prompts - or yours - had no effort put into them, my money has paid for the privilege of making mine, so users should ask or pay.
