ArtistA library embedded between the roots of trees. The walls and shelves are made of roots. In the center of the room a large table made of gnarled wood with several ancient maps and open leather-bound atlases on top. Six chairs made of gnarled wood surround the table. Six anthropomorphic animals sit on the chairs studying the maps and atlases. The first is Enaid, an anthropomorphic European fire-bellied toad in a green dress with red floral pattern. The second is Dogula, an anthropomorphic Transylvanian hound. Dogula wears black robes and a black cloak with a high collar and prominently shows his long canines protruding past his lower lip. The third is Athena, an anthropomorphic elderly tabby cat in red robes and a red cloak, carries a rapier in a sheath attached to her belt. The fourth is Purrsephone, an anthropomorphic orange and roundish cat in red robes and a red cloak, carries a rapier in a sheath attached to her belt. The fifth is Artemis, an anthropomorphic fully white cat in red robes and a red cloak, carries a rapier in a sheath attached to her belt. The sixth is Agatha, an anthropomorphic German spaniel with uniform glossy reddish-brown fur that shimmers in the light. Agatha wears an elegant dark green dress and carries a brown leather bag on its right side with the strap of the bag draped over the spaniel's left shoulder. All heads are down except Agatha's who looks up and points excitedly at the page of the atlas she is looking at.
Once again, our heroes find themselves in a library, sifting through piles of books and ancient scrolls. In spite of the tireless efforts of countless cartographers, there are still many areas where maps are incomplete because of their remoteness. But Agatha Misty has a hunch that it's precisely these remote areas, the ones where few, if any travelers will ever venture, that hold the most promise. She focuses her attention on an area that naturally contains less life than other areas, the desert mountains beyond Crocodilia. These mountains are notorious for their lack of water, making traveling through them nearly impossible. And yet, perhaps there are undiscovered oasis that might support a small population seeking to escape detection. She compares the markings on the few scant maps she can find to the ones on their new map and sure enough, a large blot obscures everything. Even though life is rare in the desert, it should still exist.
“Look!” Agatha Misty exclaims, pointing at her map. “I think the school could be here.”
