Backstory : Like all four characters in this series so far, The Grandmother belongs to a Grigorii* sub-group which calls itself The Bright, hence the series name. One series subplot lies with The Daughter's refusal to join the Strigoi coven that her family's matriarchs have controlled for centuries. Needless to say, The Mother is outraged, hence her expression (q.v.). By contrast, the Grandmother wants The Daughter to freely choose her path, and she is angered by The Mother's attempts at coercion.
