More about Beckoning

(re-visited, with poem extended into a song, link at the end)

She paused for a moment,
It was hard not to do,
The fragrance, the moonlight
like a spell held her to—
The blossoms beckoned
to come deeper within
this enchanting forest
where there had been
an explosion of
Spring.

Then she saw him—
He paused for a moment,
It was hard not to do,
The fragrance, the moonlight
like a spell held him to—
The blossoms beckoned
to come deeper within
this enchanting forest
where there had been
an explosion of
Spring.

Their eyes met
Their hearts met
within the beauty
and bliss of the forest
yet, they held back
their kiss, but
they lingered,
their eyes
twinkling like the stars
of the heavens above
and afar,

Yes, they paused for a moment,
It was hard not to do,

The fragrance, the moonlight
like a spell held them to—
within this explosion of
Spring.
