Found one day beneath the rain’s soft thread,
her breath was torn, but her soul unbowed.
She looked at me without asking a thing,
and I gave her everything, without doubt.
Her paws, light as the tears I wept,
walked across crooked hours,
and her meows, ink-like whispers,
wrote peace into all my silences.
We chose each other, without a word—
two solitudes sharing one shelter,
she with her tail held like a vow,
I with a heart no longer hollow.
But came the man with a blinded soul,
with empty hands and emptier spirit,
who poured poison where love had bloomed,
for loveless eyes can never see it.
Now she sleeps where no harm can reach,
among whispers of wind and flickering stars.
Yet each night she returns, silent and bright,
her nose on mine—soft as a prayer.
