The Tokoloshe is often described as small, but its influence is anything but. It hides beneath beds, within shadows, or just beyond sight, waiting for moments of vulnerability. Unlike creatures that rely on brute force, the Tokoloshe thrives on disruption. It whispers, it distorts, it interferes with perception. People who fall under its influence report strange disturbances — objects misplaced, voices heard in empty rooms, a constant sense of unease. In some traditions, beds are raised on bricks to avoid its reach, suggesting that it moves along the ground, bound to the lowest spaces. Yet even this offers no true protection. The Tokoloshe is not limited by physical barriers. It can enter dreams, bending them into nightmares that linger long after waking. Some say it is summoned intentionally through dark rituals, bound to serve harmful purposes. Others believe it exists independently, drawn to instability and fear. It does not need to be seen to be present. In fact, it prefers not to be.
