"So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal." - 2 Corinthians 4:18 (NIV)
Life is fleeting, and our time on this earth is short. While it's easy to get caught up in pursuing earthly things, as followers of Christ, we are called to embrace an eternal perspective. Our ultimate purpose lies beyond the temporary. True fulfillment and lasting joy come from seeking eternal rewards and blessings.
In 2 Corinthians 4:18, Paul urges us to fix our eyes on the things that are unseen and eternal, rather than on the temporary and visible. Earthly pursuits may bring temporary happiness, but they will pass away. It's in investing our time, talents, and resources in things of eternal significance that we find purpose and fulfillment.
As we navigate life's joys and challenges, let us remember that our true home is in heaven. Our citizenship is in the kingdom of God, and our eternal inheritance awaits us. By embracing an eternal perspective, we can live with intentionality, find contentment in all circumstances, and make choices that align with God's kingdom purposes.
