ArtistChapter 17 – Part 3 – The Journey That Chose to Remember Reference images: CR-M1 – Morksik CR-M2 – Borstel CR-M4 – Hopsy CR-M12 – Percival P. Waddlesworth Create a cinematic realistic painterly fantasy storybook illustration, 4:3 landscape format. Use all four uploaded reference images STRICTLY. Preserve the exact established species, appearance, clothing, facial features and body proportions of every character. CRITICAL CHARACTER SCALE: Hopsy is the tallest character, but ONLY moderately taller than Morksik. Hopsy must NOT look gigantic. Morksik must be clearly substantial in size and must NOT appear tiny. Morksik must be taller/larger than Borstel and Percival. Borstel and Percival are the two smaller characters and approximately comparable in overall scale. Hopsy should be only about 25–30% taller than Morksik. Do NOT exaggerate the height difference between Hopsy and Morksik. All four must look like naturally proportioned travelling companions standing at approximately the same distance from the viewer. EXACTLY FOUR CHARACTERS: ONE Morksik, ONE Borstel, ONE Hopsy, ONE Percival. No duplicates, no older Borstel, no second Percival, no background characters. Scene: a mysterious ruined station landscape surrounded by deep blue and silver mist. Two magical golden roads split away toward the LEFT and RIGHT, both disappearing through twisted trees and old wooden signposts. Between the two golden roads, a THIRD narrow magical path of clear BLUE LIGHT appears through the mist. Hopsy stands near the entrance to the blue path holding a compass with a tiny glowing blue feather hovering immediately above it. His enormous natural leather pouch must be clearly visible and attached naturally to his body. Morksik stands close beside Hopsy and watches the blue path with wonder. IMPORTANT: Morksik must remain clearly larger than Borstel and Percival and must not be reduced to a tiny figure. Borstel stands beside Morksik carrying the patched leather satchel given to him by his older self. Percival stands beside the group in his established elegant clothes and tall black top hat. Keep ALL FOUR characters grouped closely together in the foreground and on the SAME depth plane so perspective cannot create false size differences. The two false roads glow warm gold. The true central path glows magical blue and leads straight into the mist. Broken station structures and wooden signposts surround them, suggesting that the impossible station is beginning to collapse. Strong visual emphasis on the THREE ROADS: golden left path, golden right path, blue central path. Atmospheric blue mist, warm golden light, subtle magical illumination, cinematic depth, realistic painterly fantasy storybook style, mysterious and wondrous rather than frightening. Small white full-body unicorn watermark with the text “AI by Unicorngraphics” in the bottom-right corner. No other decorative text.

Chapter 17 – The Station Between Two Journeys Part 3 – The Journey That Chose to Remember
"We thought the sign meant one of us had to return while the others continued," the older Borstel said. "So we chose." Hopsy tightened his arms around his enormous pouch. "Who returned?" The older hedgehog looked at Percival. "He did." Percival glanced at the RETURN token in his flipper. "Naturally." "And the rest of us?" Morksik asked. "We took the Road Home." The older Borstel nodded toward Percival's double. "But there was another possible journey. One where Percival returned and one where he continued. The road couldn't decide which had happened." The second Percival touched his CONTINUE token. "So it made both." "Yes." A deep sound rolled beneath the station. Every golden lamp flickered. Somewhere in the mist, wood cracked like a tree splitting in a storm. "It's starting," the older Borstel whispered. The signposts began turning. Half swung left, half right. THE ROAD HOME vanished from their arrows. New words appeared. ROAD ONE. ROAD TWO. Two passages opened in the blue mist. Through the first, Morksik saw the crooked trees and silver pools of Mistmoor beneath a warm evening sky. Through the second he saw exactly the same landscape. Four distant figures stood upon a hill in one vision. In the other there were only three. Hopsy pulled out his compass. The needle spun helplessly between them. "Which one is ours?" "Both," said the older Borstel. A cheerful voice came from Road Two. Hopsy's voice. "Borstel! Hurry up! Morksik found the cottage!" Hopsy stared into the mist. Then Morksik's own voice called from Road One. "Don't listen! That's not our road!" The station trembled. New words appeared upon the central sign. CHOOSE BEFORE BOTH JOURNEYS REMEMBER YOU. "What happens then?" Morksik asked. "Whichever journey remembers you first becomes yours," said the older Borstel. "And the other?" "Never happened." Hopsy looked at the blue feather still held between his fingers. "You told me not to lose this." The older Borstel nodded. "Because it came from the World Tree. It was with you before the journey divided." Morksik understood. "So it remembers only one journey." "Yours." Hopsy held the feather above his compass. The feather began to glow with a soft blue light. The compass needle stopped spinning. It pointed neither left nor right. Instead it pointed directly toward the blank wall of mist between the two roads. Percival frowned. "There isn't a road there." Morksik smiled. "Not yet." Hopsy stepped forward. The moment his foot touched the mist, a thin blue line appeared beneath it. Another followed. Slowly a narrow path formed where no sign pointed. The two false roads brightened as though angry. Voices called from both directions. Borstel heard his own laughter. Hopsy heard familiar objects rattling inside an unseen pouch.
