The morning has grown warmer, and our ginger-haired girl slowly walks back toward the shore through the clear, shallow water. Her bare shoulders and back glisten softly in the Mediterranean light, droplets of seawater catching the sun in tiny points of silver. Her wet ginger hair hangs loosely down her back, darker and heavier from the sea. Waiting at the water's edge is her small deep copper-red dachshund, with his recognizable long body and short legs, watching her return with complete concentration. As she reaches the sand, he immediately walks toward her, touching his nose to her wet leg as if checking where she has been. She bends down laughing, reaching toward him. Behind them, her light summer dress still rests on the woven mat beneath the olive tree, beside the open parasol, towel and beach bag. The little sprig of lavender remains tucked into the bag's handle, quietly following the story. The sea stretches calmly behind them, while the distant island and faint silhouette of Mount Athos dissolve into the soft haze of the horizon. Impasto builds the wet sand, droplets, woven fibres, olive bark and the dachshund's copper fur as tactile painted surfaces. Palette Knife constructs the shoreline, tree, parasol and two figures in broad, confident organic forms. Glazing layers warm sunlight over skin and wet hair, cool transparent blues through the sea and soft silver mist across the distance. Color Ink sharpens the intimate details — ginger curls, the dog's expressive eyes, lavender buds, wet footprints and tiny highlights on the water. Painterly, tactile and poetic, never photographic or CGI — the small reunion between a woman and the little companion who waited faithfully for her return.
