ArtistA large, Roman-style library. Books and scrolls are neatly arranged on long shelves along the walls. Athena, an anthropomorphic elderly tabby cat in red robes and a red cloak, carries a rapier in a sheath attached to her belt. Athena sits at a rough-hewn wooden table pouring over a large leather-bound book which lies open on the table in front of her. The pages are covered in runes and other ancient symbols.
Athena methodically sifts through every book and scroll at the library that concerns itself with symbols of any kind. She consults books of rune-lore and hieroglyphs, books on languages in countries far away, books on spells of all kinds. None contain any information on pentagrams like the one she found on the parchment in the hearth. She senses that this absence is not accidental. She consults the librarian who confirms that Lord Laverno confiscated a single ancient tome from the library claiming the knowledge it contained was too dangerous to be publicly available. So Athena searches through the royal library but in vain. Nowhere can she find any information on the mysterious symbol. She resolves to travel to the Feline Academy of Occult Knowledge and ask the experts there for help.
