”The Sovereign Lord has given me a well-instructed tongue, to know the word that sustains the weary. He wakens me morning by morning, wakens my ear to listen like one being instructed." (Isaiah 50:4)
In moments of weariness, we need the sustaining power of God's word spoken over us. This is the unique call of pastors and parents - to have a "well-instructed tongue" that can discern and convey the very words to revive depleted souls. Through their own devotion to Scripture, these spiritual leaders gain the wisdom to know precisely what their flock or family needs to hear.
But this ministry requires attentiveness. Pastors and parents must cultivate a posture of listening, allowing God to "waken their ear" so they can be fully attuned to the needs around them. When they open the Scriptures and allow the Holy Spirit to speak through them, miracles can happen. Fatigued minds can be renewed, heavy burdens lifted, and joy restored, as the light of Christ dispels the darkness of weariness.
