The Adventures of Arthur & the Teddy Bear: Crazy Train #10
The train was running like the wind. Arthur and Teddy Bear were sitting on the running board of the locomotive, holding on to the railings to keep from falling. At that speed, they could not move further into the train to get into a carriage. Besides, they didn't have a ticket, so they didn't like the prospect of being caught for unpaid fare either.
On the other hand, what could be more interesting and incredible than riding at the head of a locomotive like this? The weather was unbelievably warm and sunny. The wind blew in Arthur's hair, but the gusts were quite pleasant. They were incredibly happy and amazed at this turn of events.
"We finally got out! I was afraid that we would never be able to see the sun again," Teddy Bear said.
"We found the way out of that mystical forest. Now all we have to do is wait for the next stop. And then we'll get off and buy a ticket. Or we'll ask someone where we are and how to get home," Arthur replied.
But the train kept going and going. The railroad passed through picturesque places among wooded mountains, beautiful lakes and meadows. It crossed bridges and viaducts. But, surprisingly, there were no stops.
Arthur turned to Teddy Bear:
"We've been traveling for so long, but there hasn't been a single town or village along the way"
"And no station to stop at where we can finally get off. Arthur, what if we ask to get in the driver's cab, maybe he won't let us out in the middle of the field?"
"I think that's a good idea, Teddy Bear"
Arthur cautiously approached the driver's cab and knocked on the observation window. But no one heard him or even looked out.
"Did the driver fall asleep in there?" Arthur wondered.
"Did he? Is that why we are driving for so long and never stopping?" asked Teddy Bear.
"How should I know. But then who throws coal into the firebox?" asked Arthur.
"This train is going like crazy. If the coal burns out, then it should stop," Teddy Bear thought.
"I hope so"
As soon as they said that, the locomotive really started to slow down. A short time later, the train came to a complete stop.
"What does that mean, Arthur? Where is the train station? Why are we stopping here, right in the middle of... hey, where are we?"
"Maybe the station is on the other side of the train, and we just didn't see it?" Arthur replied. "Let's get off quickly before it takes us somewhere else"
" Let's go"
They had just jumped down to the ground and stepped aside to look around when the steam engine blew a loud horn, released a cloud of smoke and steam, and began to move. The young travelers stood and watched the cars pass before their eyes. Finally, the last one flashed by. After it, the entire track curled up, leaving no trace. The train disappeared over the horizon...
Beginning in previous dreams.
