"Like arrows in the hands of a warrior are children born in one’s youth. Blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them. They will not be put to shame when they contend with their opponents in court." - Psalm 127:4-5 (NIV)

The imagery in this Psalm is powerful. Children are compared to arrows, and just as a warrior protects and aims his arrows towards their target, we as parents must protect and guide our children towards their purpose in life. However, protecting our children is not an easy task. There are so many dangers and challenges that they face in this world, and we cannot always be there to shield them from harm.

This is where prayer comes in. Prayer is a powerful tool that we can use to protect our children. We can pray for their safety, their health, their relationships, their future, and their spiritual growth. We can pray for wisdom, guidance, and discernment as we raise them. We can pray for God's protection over them, and for His grace and mercy to cover them in times of trouble.

As parents, we must realize that we cannot do this on our own. We need God's help and guidance in order to protect our children. We must turn to Him in prayer and ask for His help, knowing that He is faithful and will answer our prayers.

So let us pray for our children today. Let us ask God to protect them, guide them, and lead them towards their purpose in life. Let us trust in His goodness and His love for our children, knowing that He is with us every step of the way. And may we be encouraged by the promise in this Psalm that our children will not be put to shame when they contend with their opponents in court, for we know that God is on their side.
