The Adze is not bound to a single form. By day, it may be nothing more than a faint flicker — a firefly drifting through the night. But this light is not harmless. In certain regions of West African folklore, the Adze is a parasitic entity that feeds not on flesh, but on life force itself. It slips through the smallest openings — cracks in walls, gaps beneath doors, even the space between breaths. When it finds a host, it enters silently, nesting within the body. From there, it drains vitality slowly, leaving behind weakness, confusion, and eventually complete exhaustion. In its true form, the Adze is said to resemble a small, distorted humanoid figure with sharp teeth and burning eyes. It cannot always be seen, but its presence is felt — in sudden chills, in unexplained illness, in the sense of being watched from within rather than from outside. Those who attempt to trap it may find that it resists containment, slipping between forms. It is not a creature that hunts openly. It waits, it watches, and it enters when no one is looking.
