Arthur and Teddy Bear walked for a while through a sea of magical flowers, hundreds of fireflies and fire butterflies. Until they reached the edge of a forest meadow and plunged back into the darkness of the mystical forest. The path led them further. But where, they had no idea. The kerosene lamp was about to burn out. Its faint light barely illuminated the path.
Suddenly, they heard a strange noise in the distance.
"What is that noise? Is it a river, or maybe a waterfall?" asked Teddy Bear.
"For some reason, this river sounds like it's beating a rhythm," Arthur said.
"Really, I hear something like... "chuff-chuff-chuff."
"Sure, that's the sound of a steam train!" exclaimed Arthur.
"A steam train? In the forest?" Teddy Bear could hardly believe it.
"Hurry, let's run before it leaves! I hope it will take us out of this dark forest." Arthur hurried toward the sound in the distance. In a few moments, there it was: a real steam locomotive standing in the middle of the forest, emitting great clouds of smoke and steam, as if they were the source of the thick fog that was spreading through the forest.
"Look, Teddy Bear, how many cars this train has. I can't even see the end of it."
"Is this really a forest station?" asked Teddy Bear. "But there is no platform here for people to get on the train. And where can we buy a ticket?"
They wanted to see how they could get on the train. But all around them was only dense forest.
"Oh, there's no time to look, the train is leaving!" exclaimed Arthur.
"Hurry up, let's catch up with it! Arthur, grab the rail! I want to get out of this place at last!" cried Teddy Bear.
Arthur ran after the train. While holding Teddy Bear in one hand, he grabbed the rail with the other and jumped onto the locomotive.
"'Whew! That was quite a steeplechase," out of breath Arthur finally managed to catch his breath.
"'Hooray! We're going!" Teddy Bear was incredibly happy.
The locomotive gave a loud horn and began to pick up speed. To Arthur and Teddy Bear's great surprise, the rails were laying right in front of the locomotive, paving the way for it to go through the thicket of trees. The locomotive's powerful searchlights pierced the darkness of the forest, which stood as a wall in their way. The trees seemed not to want to let the little travelers go, hitting with their branches at the huge steam machine, which crashed everything that blocked its movement. The locomotive emitted powerful steam and gave loud horns. The trees fell right under the wheels. Terrified, Arthur and Teddy Bear hid in a corner so that the branches of the trees could not hit them, leaving them in this forest forever. But the locomotive did not slow down. It smashed everything in its path, and soon they escaped from the scary forest and finally saw the light.
