You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. In a world cloaked in shadows, the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it. Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord rises upon you. Therefore, take up the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand firm. May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. Do not be conquered by evil, but conquer evil with good. You are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for His own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light. For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind. Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here.
