Blood donations are very, very important because they save lives! Doctors and emergency docs as well as paramedics/firefighters urgently need them, but there are usually too few of them, especially of rare blood types.
It's really easy, go to a blood donation center you trust near you and donate half a liter of blood, which is no problem medically as long as you are healthy and fit to donate.
I always went to the transfusion center for blood donations in a hospital, where the staff were friendly and knowledgeable.
