As children, we are filled with enthusiasm and excitement for everything around us. We eagerly look forward to family trips and eagerly anticipate going to church. However, as we grow older, this excitement can wane, and we can become jaded and apathetic towards the things we once loved.
But the good news is that it's never too late to restore our first love with Jesus. Just like the older man in our devotion, we too can rediscover the joy and excitement of our faith.
The Bible tells us that we must become like little children to enter the kingdom of heaven (Matthew 18:3). This means that we must cultivate childlike faith, enthusiasm, and excitement for our relationship with Jesus.
We must pray for a renewed sense of wonder and awe at the majesty of God's creation. We must meditate on the promises of God's word and allow them to fill us with hope and joy. And we must seek out fellowship with other believers, sharing our faith journeys and supporting one another in our pursuit of God.
So, let us all strive to be like the young child who is excited about everything, eagerly anticipating each new adventure, including our journey with Jesus. Let us seek to restore our first love with him and cultivate a vibrant, childlike faith that is contagious to all those around us. May God bless us on this journey!
