As human beings, we all have a desire for joy and happiness. We often look for it in things that are fleeting and temporary, such as material possessions, relationships or experiences. However, true joy, the kind that lasts, comes from Jesus.
In John 15:11, Jesus says, "I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete." What a beautiful promise! When we abide in Jesus and allow His joy to fill us, we experience a deep and lasting happiness that is not dependent on our circumstances.
But true joy is not meant to be hoarded or kept to ourselves. As followers of Christ, we are called to give generously and be humble like a child. In Matthew 18:3-4, Jesus says, "Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Therefore, whoever takes the lowly position of this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven."
Children are humble and unassuming, and they give freely without expecting anything in return. As we grow older, we tend to become more self-centered and focused on our own needs and wants. But Jesus calls us to have the same childlike humility and generosity in our hearts.
When we give generously and humbly, we reflect the love of Christ to those around us. We become a conduit for His joy, sharing it with others and bringing them closer to Him. As we give, we also receive, because there is true joy in giving.
So let us seek true joy in Jesus, and let us give generously and be humble like a child, reflecting His love to the world around us.
