The Cottage of the Vanished Wizard – Chapter 16 Part 2 – The Keeper Who Had Been Waiting. Inside the endless Hall Before Every Beginning, towering bookshelves disappear into glowing silver clouds high above. Ancient books without titles fill every shelf, each bearing only a single luminous footprint on its cover. Thousands of glowing silver, golden, sapphire, emerald and crimson footprints drift peacefully through the air while millions of tiny glowing letters rise from countless open books, forming a magnificent river of light flowing across the ceiling like a living galaxy. Beautiful young woman, 22 years old, approximately 1.70 m tall. Long naturally wavy golden-blonde hair reaching the middle of her back. Bright blue eyes, fair skin with light freckles across the nose, warm gentle smile. Slender naturally athletic figure. Loose forest-green medieval linen tunic, brown leather belt, dark charcoal trousers and sturdy brown leather boots. Ticko, a small intelligent squirrel with a fluffy bushy tail, sits on Mara's shoulder while holding a tiny magical lantern that glows deep blue. Beside Mara stands a beautiful young woman with long auburn hair, intelligent green eyes, elegant dark blue medieval dress and brown leather boots. She is holding Lumio, a friendly living enchanted modern black smartphone with expressive bright blue eyes and smiling face displayed on the screen, metallic arms and legs, dark gloves, dark leather boots and a gentle silver-blue magical aura. Wise elderly librarian and keeper of the Great Library. Long white hair reaching the shoulders, full white beard, calm blue-grey eyes, noble intelligent face. Tall dignified build wearing elegant deep blue medieval scholar robes while holding a large ancient book. Beside him stands Memoris, an elderly archivist with round spectacles carrying parchment scrolls. Nearby stand Klemmi, a friendly living oversized polished golden paperclip with bright blue eyes, golden wire eyebrows, wire arms and legs and brown leather shoes, Sir Fegelot, the living enchanted broom wearing his slightly crooked old black magic hat, Madam Arabica, the friendly living antique copper coffee kettle, and the living enchanted square glass ink bottle with blue-black magical ink splashing gently from its open brass lid. Far ahead, the mysterious First Keeper stands wrapped in a long dark cloak with one hand raised. Deep within the towering bookshelves to the left, dozens of enormous glowing golden eyes silently watch the travelers from the darkness between the ancient books. The eyes are mysterious and ancient, not evil, creating awe rather than fear. Epic medieval fantasy, breathtaking scale, cinematic realism, volumetric silver light, magical atmosphere, masterpiece, ultra detailed, dramatic perspective, 4:3 composition. Tiny full-body white unicorn logo with the text "AI by Unicorngraphics" in the bottom right corner.

Nobody moved. The distant figure remained perfectly still, as though it had all the time the world had ever possessed. Around it, the silver mist drifted in slow circles without ever touching the long cloak. Mara felt neither fear nor danger. Instead, an odd familiarity settled inside her, like the vague memory of a dream she had almost remembered upon waking. “Do you think…” she whispered, “…it has been waiting for someone else?” Biblior slowly closed the ancient volume he still carried beneath one arm. “Perhaps,” the little librarian answered quietly. “Or perhaps every visitor believes that until the Keeper finally looks at them.” The glowing footprints suspended throughout the immense hall shimmered once before they all began moving again. None hurried. None hesitated. Every single luminous step advanced with the same calm rhythm toward the distant stranger. The tiny blue footprints created by the mischievous ink bottle joined them cheerfully, hopping across the polished floor until they disappeared into the great procession as though they had always belonged there. “Even the ink knows where to go,” Klemmi muttered with a nervous smile. The enchanted bottle answered with another loud hiccup, spraying a tiny silver star into the air instead of ink. It floated lazily above Nutty’s head until the little squirrel reached up curiously and caught it between both paws. Instead of vanishing, the glowing star became a tiny lantern that illuminated only the path ahead. “I believe,” Madam Arabica said thoughtfully, “that this place has decided to guide us one step at a time.” Sir Fegelot adjusted his tall hat with unusual seriousness. “For once,” the elderly broom admitted, “I shall refrain from offering unnecessary heroic speeches.” Everyone looked at him in surprise. “Do not become accustomed to it,” he added quickly. “It feels highly unnatural.” Even the silence seemed amused. They began walking. Each step echoed softly through the immeasurable chamber. The towering shelves surrounding them stretched farther than sight itself, filled not only with books but with objects that looked as though they had once belonged inside forgotten stories. Tiny wooden doors floated between crystal bottles. Folded paper birds slept beneath transparent leaves. Clocks without hands rested beside keys that possessed no teeth. Entire shelves contained nothing but empty picture frames, yet every frame reflected a different landscape that none of them recognized. Linora slowly lifted Lumio. The enchanted phone had fallen completely silent. Its screen no longer displayed maps or messages. Instead, faint silver lines spread beneath the glass like delicate roots growing through clear water. “Is it broken?” she asked softly.
