Loki is one of the most complex figures in the Nordic pantheon: on the one hand he helps the gods, on the other hand it also plays pranks and backs them. He makes use of his ability as a shape converter and, for example, appears in the shape of a salmon or a fly. Due to this ambivalent role, it is often interpreted as a trickster figure.
