Hot sunny afternoon. Two large dark flat stones in the front of a rockery with smaller limestone stones and lots of small-flowered, richly flowering alpine flowers, a mowed lawn in front of the dark flat stones. A small green lizard stands on the left large dark stone. An orange-and-white cat lies on the right dark stone, staring at the lizard in surprise. The background of dark, densely growing Juniperus sabina, the savin juniper.
Cat and Lizard at Sunset
The gardener put the dark stones in front of the rock garden so that the lizards could bask. But cats also like to bask. The newly arrived lizard is lucky, the cat was woken up by its arrival, but the cat is sleepy and is not able to catch the lizard quickly.
