A tuxedo-colored cat with yellow eyes approaches us along a worn path in the grass. An orange cat walks toward it, in direction from us, we see the orange cat from its back; as the cats pass one another, they sniff each other. An autumn landscape abounding in flowers and a riot of color—vibrant blossoms, golden foliage, a tranquil setting, a harmonious whole. Finely rendered flora, a realistic depiction of nature, and a peaceful atmosphere. Flowers appear on the left, backed by autumn trees and shrubs; on the right, in the background, stands a country homestead with a grazing goat and three hens. The hens—speckled, red, and white—have their heads close together; they are pecking at something in the grass.
The cat has rested after her nighttime escapades and is going for a walk. On the way, she meets a black-and-white male cat who has been on a long expedition and is just returning home. She greets him with the customary sniff.
