As Christians, we believe that Jesus Christ will one day return to earth, and when He does, He will establish His kingdom and judge the living and the dead. This event is often referred to as the Second Coming of Christ, and while we do not know the exact day or hour when it will occur, we do know that it is coming soon.
In light of this knowledge, it is important that we use our time wisely. We must not waste our days on things that have no eternal significance or value. Instead, we must focus on the things that matter most, such as growing in our relationship with Christ, sharing the gospel with others, and serving those in need.
The apostle Paul reminds us of the urgency of this task in his letter to the Romans, where he writes, "And do this, understanding the present time: The hour has already come for you to wake up from your slumber, because our salvation is nearer now than when we first believed" (Romans 13:11).
We must wake up from our spiritual slumber and realize that time is running out. We must make the most of every opportunity that God gives us, knowing that our time on earth is limited. We must be diligent in our pursuit of holiness and obedience to Christ, knowing that He could return at any moment.
Jesus Himself warned us to be ready for His return, saying, "Therefore keep watch, because you do not know the day or the hour" (Matthew 25:13). We must be vigilant and prepared, living each day with the knowledge that Christ could return at any moment.
So let us use our time wisely, investing in the things that have eternal value and significance. Let us be faithful in our service to God and our love for others, knowing that our time on earth is short. And let us eagerly await the return of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
