The "Number 3" models use a combination of technology and human anatomical structures like skin, but they are extensively cyberized, e.g., they can provide continuous maintenance and repair of the central nervous system.

All of these models are designed for strength, speed, and endurance. Moreover, they have customizable features : the unit shown here is customized for an expanded sensorium. Note the large eyes, which are machines, not real eyes ; their size allows for a greater visual field. Even the skin, which is mostly natural, has augmented tactile perception.

The brain is likewise augmented, so that it can handle the increased perception and then provide accurate interpretation of sensations received, e.g., allowing the occupant to detect movement in water by tactile and auditory means, in much the way that alligators do with their special sense organs.

The Number 3 models would be replaced by units that gradually cyberized the occupant brain to create true human immortality.
