In my graying years now I have landed on a silly theory I've playfully termed a private black hole. I drop things, as ever and as everyone sometimes does. That part is usual. But in this changed reality, the things disappear without a sound or a trace. Searches on my person, my clothing, my chair, desk or the floor nearby turn up nothing. Poof! They've vanished, dissolved in the universal mists of may-have-been. This just happened with a raisin that missed my mouth. Did it ever exist? It's gone.
