Like, you don't have control over pretty much anyone or anything outside of your mind. Life is happening as a result of what's on your mind, what you think, how you think, and how strongly you believe in what you think and how you think. If you think the way you think and wonder how you keep getting nowhere...it's not because of life. It's because of every single negative and self-defeating thought you have accepted as true for you. Change won't happen overnight just like developing your current way of thinking didn't happen overnight. It took a long time like you said. So if you want anything to change, it might help to start practicing better thinking to replace the self-defeating thoughts.
Prompt: Externally, I am doing my best to throttle the reassurance seeking or bothering other people when I managed to recognize I was doing that.
