Support for Emojis and Higher Word Limit in Post Descriptions #98
Hi DDG Team,
I often write articles and detailed thoughts under the descriptions of my artwork, and I've noticed many talented community members also share beautiful stories, insights, and personal experiences alongside their creations.
However, I've encountered an issue where inserting emojis into the description text either causes them to disappear or truncates/cuts off all the text typed after the emoji once published.
I kindly request the moderation and admin team to enable full emoji support in the description field. Adding emojis would make our stories and articles much more engaging, expressive, and visually attractive for readers.
Additionally, if possible, I would love to request an increase in the current character/word limit for post descriptions (which feels capped around 3,000 words). A slightly higher limit would give creators more space to share rich historical contexts and detailed narratives with their art.

Resolved: Emoji now stay in descriptions and no longer cut off the text after them. Descriptions shortened before the fix need editing to add the missing text back.
Admins, I submitted this under the 'Feature' category, but it ended up getting posted under 'Bugs' instead.
DDG Admins, I second this request. An expanded Description field would be useful. I understand that's more data to store.

Fixed, thank you! Emoji now stay in dream descriptions, and nothing after them gets cut off any more. The cause was on our side: descriptions were stored in a way that couldn't hold emoji, so for a while everything after the first emoji was dropped, and more recently the emoji themselves were removed.
One thing we can't undo: descriptions that were already cut short before today can't be restored automatically. You can edit those dreams and add the missing text back.
About the length: the limit is 3,000 characters (not words), and that hasn't changed. If you'd like it raised, please post it as a Feature request so others can vote for it.
