The clouds stretch in long horizontal bands, with slightly brighter, whiter patches near the horizon where small puffy clouds sit just above the hills. There’s no visible sun or direct light, so the whole scene is evenly and softly lit. The palette is almost monochromatic, built from blues, steel grays, and muted lavender, which gives the image a calm yet slightly brooding, wintry feel. The composition is simple and balanced: three horizontal bands of sky, land, and sea, with the water given the most space to emphasize its movement and the sense of open, exposed ocean. It reads as a cool, blustery day on a rugged temperate coast, with a hint of unease from the choppy water.
