Prompt

A cinematic fairytale steampunk illustration of Grimbold, a small grumpy non-human imp with pointed ears, weathered face, patched leather clothes, tool belt, goggles pushed onto his cap, riding on the back of his rusty mechanical riding dragon. The dragon is wingless, built from old copper plates, iron joints, exposed gears, pipes, pressure gauges, rivets and steaming pistons, with a long segmented tail and a narrow mechanical dragon head. Grimbold sits clearly in a small saddle between the dragon’s shoulder plates, holding the reins, so he is visibly riding the dragon and not standing beside it. They stand before the ancient Silver King, a massive seated clockwork monarch made of tarnished silver, brass armor, gears and glowing amber eyes, inside a vast underground steam-engine throne hall filled with pipes, lanterns, stone arches, turning cogwheels and drifting steam. Behind the king hangs a glowing map showing the route to the heart of the last steam engine. Magical warm light, detailed painterly fantasy, whimsical but epic atmosphere, no wings on the dragon, no extra characters, 4:3 composition. Include a very small sterilized full-body white unicorn logo with delicate proportions and the text “AI by Unicorngraphics” beneath it in the bottom right corner.

The tolling of the clock tower’s bell faded slowly. Its deep resonance traveled through the streets of the awakened city, across brass bridges and beneath colossal domes. Everywhere, automatons stood listening. Some gazed up at the sky. Others placed their metal hands against their chest plates, as if they had rediscovered a long-forgotten memory. The old automaton with the silver face guided Grimbold through the city. Now that the inhabitants had awakened, he could see just how magnificent this place must once have been. Gears turned within ornate facades. Orbs of light floated above the streets. Small maintenance automatons hurried across bridges and terraces. Yet, the ravages of time were visible everywhere, too. Rust had eaten into many of the structures. Some towers leaned at precarious angles. Numerous machines operated sluggishly or incompletely. Finally, they reached the massive clock tower. The bronze gates stood open. Beyond them, a wide staircase led deep underground. "Our king rests down there," the automaton explained. "No one has seen him since the Day of Sleep." Grimbold nodded and reached for his lantern. Together with his dragon Rusttooth, he descended. The stairs seemed endless. The path led ever deeper through old machine rooms, abandoned workshops, and vast halls filled with motionless gears. At last, they reached a gigantic chamber. In its center stood a throne of silver and dark iron. A figure sat upon it. The King. Even in the dim light, he appeared imposing. His body was crafted from intricate silver metal. Golden ornamentation adorned his chest and shoulders. Yet, patches of rust had marred the once-gleaming metal. His eyes were closed. Thick layers of dust covered the throne. The room felt like a tomb. "Is he dead?" Grimbold asked quietly. The automaton did not answer. Instead, it stepped before the throne and placed its hand on a metal plate in the floor. A deep click echoed out. Gears began to turn. Lights flared up all around the chamber. The floor vibrated. Slowly, the king’s eyes opened. Two points of amber light appeared in the darkness. Grimbold felt his heart race. The massive figure slowly lifted its head. Metal groaned and grated. Rust flaked from the joints. Then, the king rose from his throne. "Who has summoned me?" His voice sounded like rolling thunder. The old automaton bowed low. "Your Majesty. The city has awakened." The king looked around. His gaze swept across the hall. Finally, it came to rest on Grimbold and his dragon. For a long time, he said nothing. Then, he stepped closer. "A child of the free peoples." His voice grew quieter. "And a dragon of the First Forge." The rusty mount lifted its head attentively.
