The Tales of a Nine-Tailed Fox

In moonlit groves where silence weaves,
And silver light drips through the leaves,
A fox of many-folded grace
Moves like a whisper through the space.

Her nine long tails in ribbons glide,
A drifting storm at twilight’s side;
Each tail a tale, each tale a spark—
A fragment born of flame and dark.

Some say she once was mortal born,
A heart made gentle, bruised, and torn;
Till ancient spirits heard her cries
And crowned her with immortal ties.

Others claim she’s trickster fair,
A shapeshifted ghost of smoky air;
She smiles with warmth yet hides her aim—
A dancing riddle wrapped in flame.

But wanderers who meet her gaze
Forget the path, the nights, the days;
For beauty carved from mythic art
Can steal a soul—or soothe a heart.

She guards the lost with tempered will,
Yet tests the proud on forest hill;
A blessing given, a lesson taught,
A truth revealed where none was sought.

And so the ages pass her lore
Through whispered lips and tavern door—
A legend forged in embered locks,
The timeless tales
Of a nine-tailed fox.
