ArtistHybrid 50% animal 50%: fig tree (Ficus carica) x gooseneck barnacle (Pollicipes pollicipes) Full width 16:9 biology zentangle illustration filling the entire image width of a fully fused hybrid fig tree (Ficus carica) x gooseneck barnacle (Pollicipes pollicipes) symbiont. Each hybrid has many lovely, lobed, strongly veined fig tree leaves and abundant fruit that looks exactly like individual gooseneck barnacles, which, with their leathery stalk and dull color, resemble dried figs. The hybrid creature-plant is is growing in a zentangle orchard, with a meadow and blue, strongly patterned sky in the background. The zentangle background can hardly be made out in the close-up image, which focuses on the fig leaves and the gooseneck barnacle fruit. The entire image has strong zentangle patterns. Historical biological oddity portrayed in extreme detail in a painstakingly executed, ultradecorative zendoodle and zentangle style. At the edge of the full-width illustration, the zendoodle patterns echo those of famous contemporary zendoodle artists. The fully melded hybrid creature is illustrated in an extremely detailed style resembling that of contemporary biology illustrators.
This dream took quite a bit of tweaking, but it finally came out the way I wanted it to!
