I wonder how many people know that Lewis Carroll was known for his photography of young girls. Alice was one of his photographic muses. In the 19th Century, the age of marriage was puberty for girls. In our day and society such behavior would be classified as pedophilia, but in the 1800s it was not uncommon for young ladies (children by today's standards) to marry as young as 10 or 11. (P.S. I find the sexualization of youth disgusting in our modern society. I'm just providing this story as a little history about the 1800s and Lewis Carroll.
