Khimaira - mythical monster, daughter of Typhoon and Echidna. He had the head of a lion, the tail of a serpent, and the body of a wild goat; different representations combine these elements in slightly different ways. He lived in a Lukian cave and consumed anyone who came near him with flames down his throat. Bellerophontes sat on the back of his winged horse Pegasus and shot him dead with his bow.
