Located at the end of Andrássy Avenue, Heroes' Square is one of the symbols of Budapest, and is also the entrance to the City Park. The square was built for the 1896 millennium celebrations and commemorates the thousand-year history of the Hungarians. It is home to 14 emblematic statues of historical figures, with an obelisk in the center and a statue of the Archangel Gabriel at the top, which won the Grand Prix at the 1900 Paris World's Fair.
