The Ship's Systems Intermediary reports on the status of their ship's technology and its capabilities to its biological crew, and it can also serve as a mouthpiece for the ship's AI, although it is self-aware and, as such, it provides the AI with a separate point of view (POV) from the perspective of a bridge crew member.

Please note : The mouth and nose on an android allows it to mimic respiration, making it possible for this android to use spoken language. Any two holes in the android's body would serve this purpose just as well, but sentient species will more easily interact with androids if the android has recognizable facial features.

*ASC #1 to #5 are all android robots ; although some utilize biological components, none of the first five in this series are cyborgs, i.e., none have ever had an earlier existence as a biological lifeform.
