ArtistThe hidden Garden of Unlived Memories beneath the Sea of Memories. A breathtaking underground fantasy landscape of enormous transparent silver trees with whispering crystal leaves, glowing glass flowers containing tiny unlived memories, winding streams of liquid silver light, luminous moss, floating memory spheres and ancient roots forming a celestial ceiling beneath the glowing sea above. In the foreground stands Elyan, a clearly young MALE Memorai archivist (NOT feminine), about 18 years old, slim but unmistakably masculine, short silver-white hair, youthful masculine facial features, pale luminous skin with subtle glowing memory markings, wearing practical grey-blue archivist robes, leather satchel across his shoulder, holding an old brass lantern. Beside him is Tillo, a very small magical memory creature, NOT human, NOT childlike, about knee-high, with a rounded body made of translucent blue-white memory light, oversized expressive eyes, tiny floating ears, short arms, tiny feet, wisps of glowing energy instead of hair, no human nose, no human proportions, clearly a fantasy spirit creature. Several steps behind them stands the Guardian of Hidden Truths, an ancient tall Memorai with long silver robes richly embroidered with glowing memory symbols, long white hair, majestic beard, holding an ornate crystal memory staff. The three explorers appear tiny compared with the immense sacred garden. Dreamlike, melancholic, magical, cinematic fantasy realism, masterpiece, extraordinary detail, volumetric lighting, rich painterly textures, style by Brian Froud × Alan Lee × John Howe × Kinuko Y. Craft, 4:3, no frame, no border, no extra text, small sterilized full-body white unicorn logo with "AI by Unicorngraphics" in the lower right corner.
Book 2 – The Hall of a Thousand Names Chapter 7 – The Garden of Unlived Memories
Millions of mirrors lit up at once, and for one breathless moment Elyan believed the entire tower beneath the Sea of Memories would break apart. Images rushed across the walls, faces appeared and vanished, cities rose from mist, hands reached for names no one dared to speak anymore, and somewhere among all those flickering truths he heard the guardian’s words again: “I was there when your name was sacrificed.” Tillo moved close to Elyan’s side. His body, woven from forgotten memories, shimmered restlessly, as if strange thoughts were passing through him. “Sacrificed?” he whispered. “What is that supposed to mean?” Elyan could not answer. Everything inside him demanded the truth, and yet he feared it. For as long as he could remember, he had owned no past of his own. No childhood, no first word, no place to which his heart secretly returned. He had been an archivist without a beginning, a Memorai with empty pages where others carried whole books within them. Now a being stood before him who claimed to have witnessed the cause of that emptiness. “Tell me,” Elyan said at last, his voice steadier than he felt. “Who sacrificed my name? And why?” The Guardian of Hidden Truths slowly raised his staff of crystallized memory-glass. One by one the mirrors fell silent until only a single silver glow remained in the hall. “You believe your story begins with what was taken from you,” he said softly. “But before you can learn who you were, you must see who you might have been.” Elyan wanted to protest, but the floor beneath them began to open. It was no trap, no fall into darkness, but a circular stairway of light winding silently downward. The guardian stepped onto it as if he had walked that path a thousand times before. “Follow me. Beneath this tower lies a place that even many Memorai know only from forbidden lists.” Tillo swallowed. “I do not like forbidden lists. They are usually forbidden for very good reasons.” Still, he followed Elyan, and together they descended, deeper than the foundations of the tower, deeper than the silver waters of the Sea of Memories, until the air changed. It no longer smelled of stone, salt, and ancient light, but of damp earth, pollen, and rain that had not yet fallen. When the stairs ended, they stood before an enormous gate made of roots and glass. Beyond it lay a garden. Elyan stopped without a word. Beneath the tower, hidden below the Sea of Memories, stretched a world that should not have existed.
