Artist5D is a song by the American rock group The Byrds, written by Jim McGuinn and released as a single in May 1966. This single ranked 44th on the Billboard, the main American chart, but did not enter the British charts. This song also appears on the group's third album, Fifth Dimension, released on July 18 of the same year. After the release of the influential Eight Miles High, 5D seemed to push the boundaries of the Byrds' psychedelic experiments even further. 5D, produced by Allen Stanton, also sees the organ participation of Van Dyke Parks. According to McGuinn, the song's lyrics are an attempt to explain Albert Einstein's theory of relativity, and are directly inspired by Don Landis' book
