The Whispering Crown is not worn—it chooses. Forged in an unknown age, it carries within it the voices of every ruler who has ever claimed it. These voices do not rest; they whisper constantly, offering guidance, warnings, and commands. Those who place the crown upon their head gain immense insight and power, but at a cost. The voices grow louder, more insistent, until the wearer can no longer distinguish their own thoughts from those of the crown. Over time, the wearer’s identity fades, replaced by the collective will of those who came before. The crown does not seek destruction—it seeks continuity. Each new wearer becomes another voice, another layer of influence. Removing the crown is said to be nearly impossible once the bond is formed. Many have tried. Few have survived with their minds intact.
